We are looking for a Membership & Communications Officer who is available to join us from June 2022 onwards to help support the development of the National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA) by leading on its membership and communications, including the development and management of the NSPA’s social media and website.

The NSPA is a coalition of public, private, and voluntary organisation in England whose mission is to get all parts of society working together to take action to reduce suicide and improve the support for those bereaved by suicide.

– Part-time, 3 days a week

– Maternity cover, 6-month FTC

– £30,000 – £32,000 pro rata

– We encourage flexible working, talk to us about your preferences Hybrid role – Remote working and linked to our office in Ewell, Surrey.

Key Responsibilities: To develop and implement plans for NSPA’s communications internally and externally, including social media, assessing and monitoring their effectiveness on an on-going bases To lead on the development of NSPA’s website: developing creative content; ensuring that existing content is up to date; encouraging members, potential new members and stakeholders to use and actively engage with the website To respond positively and in a timely manner to all requests for content additions, amendments and ad-hoc requests To proactively seek support and involvement from strategically targeted organisation not currently involved in the work of the NSPA To ensure the membership joining process is streamlined and that potential members have the support necessary to complete the application process General duties of a Samaritans’ Staff Member

Skills and Experience: Experience of writing and developing content for external communications, recognising different audiences and include the ability to communicate empathetically experience of using and driving forward social media activity, particularly twitter and associated apps Excellent writing and proof-reading skills, with a keen eye for detail Good IT skills, specifically excellent ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint Experience of using WordPress, Survey Monkey and MailChimp would be desirable Empathises with Samaritans’ values
