How does your organisation contribute to preventing suicide and supporting those affected by it?
We have a Rapid Response Suicide Prevention Service which covers County Durham & Darlington. We run this in partnership with Local NHS Crisis teams, Darlington & Hartlepool Mind. We also have Counselling services available both voluntary & private, and we signpost to other organisations.
What are your current priorities?
Our current priorities include:
– Getting waiting lists down
– Supporting as many people as possible within the restraints of funding and time
– We want to offer counselling to bereaved by suicide for family & friends in our remit area
What challenges are you currently facing?
