How does your organisation contribute to preventing suicide and supporting those affected by it?

The iamlovingkindnessnetwork online Community Wellness Centre is dedicated to creating a feeling of wellbeing and belonging in our virtual world. We know that for some of our members, and for all sorts of different reasons, before joining iamlovingkindnessnetwork wouldn’t get to see or speak to anyone for 5/6 days at a time. Our joyful community sessions, dispel feelings of loneliness, isolation, and feelings of being forgotten that can trigger thoughts of suicide. NHS link workers and community connectors are socially prescribing our community services for loneliness, isolation, and social anxiety. Our community sessions help boost confidence and over time build self-esteem. We encourage our members to reach out and talk if they need to, to use our resources, and attend as many sessions as they wish to.

What are your current priorities?

Supporting campaigns to end loneliness regionally, nationally and ending the stigma associated with loneliness.

What challenges are you currently facing?

We are a new Online Community Wellness Centre. We hope to connect with other communities and networks quickly, so that people get to know of us who can then access our online Community Wellness Services, and always feel a daily sense of heart-warming connection and belonging in our virtual world.
