Vala Health are a CQC regulated online GP clinic. People can book a secure video consultation 7 days a week with UK qualified clinicians to discuss a range of primary and mental health complications.
How does your organisation contribute to preventing suicide and supporting those affected by it?
Every week our team of qualified, regulated care professionals help support members of the public with issues that may impact and affect their mental health. Our team have been trained to deal with patients who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts, and we help our members to find the right places for the right help.
What are your current priorities?
Helping our members to feel supported, and access our clinicians 24/7 when they have a primary or mental health concern. We’re trying to change the narrative around mental health and well-being by letting people know you don’t have to wait to get support, professional advice or treatment.
What challenges are you currently facing?
Changing the attitude, especially in men, that it’s OK to wait till the last minute to seek help and support. We’re actively campaigning to let people know that seeking support at the earliest possible moment is not a sign of weakness, and is something that can have a long-term positive impact.
