Samaritans prisons data – Unlocking the evidence

This report looks at key trends in prison suicide rates. During 2018 Samaritans supported people in prison 332,974 times. This report sets out the data from these conversations. It explores what this tells us about the concerns of people in prison and why some people in prison die by suicide. The reasons, as with all suicides, are complex.
