EventWell

We’re the event industry’s trailblazing charitable social enterprise, dedicated to educating, campaigning and supporting better mental health and wellbeing in events. We provide training and knowledge, on-site event support, and workplace wellbeing programmes that keep event professionals event well, as well as vital relief and support to any event or creative professional in crisis or impacted by poor mental health.

How does your organisation contribute to preventing suicide and supporting those affected by it?

We work with our mental health training partners to provide the new suicide first aid training and education to the events industry. We also raise awareness of suicide prevention and its impact via our own annual campaigns, event wellbeing day and event wellbeing week taking place in March and September. We provide essential support and advice to any event professional who may be in crisis in order to help prevent suicide. Our founder and CEO, herself a survivor of suicide has also talked openly about her own mental health battles and surviving her own suicide attempt 26 years ago in the hope of helping and supporting others.

What are your current priorities?

To promote suicide first aid and prevention to as many organisations and individuals across the event industry as we can. As well as create more of the awareness and education that is needed. We will also encourage more conversations, panels and keynotes on the subject at our industry events.

What challenges are you currently facing?

Stigma across the event industry, it’s a topic that is not covered unless covered by EventWell, even though it is known and common across the event industry particularly amongst men.
