Joined Up Care Derbyshire

We are a collaborative network of organisations working to establish an equitable range of services for all colleagues in the health and social care system.

Our work in suicide prevention

A number of interventions are in place at the Wellbeing Service, including a Suicide Prevention group, written policies, a cohort of trained Mental Health First Aiders, and trained Trauma Risk Management Practitioners. Additional support includes in-house occupational health services, counselling, and coordinated communication between employees and managers to facilitate reasonable adjustments. Collectively, we work across Derbyshire to raise awareness, implement initiatives, and provide a range of peer-led psychological support services.

The team comprises service leads, key stakeholders, and senior representatives from across the constituent organisations. These include acute and community NHS Trusts, local authorities, the city council, primary care, community and voluntary sectors, and a host of partner services. This systems-based model exemplifies the potential for partnership working to continually improve the health, safety, and wellbeing support offered. These services are available to all staff within the system, helping them to remain healthy, safe, and well at work.

Our current challenges

Sustainability of the wellbeing service solutions, against the backdrop of a stretched Health and Social Care system. We have a designated team working to keep colleagues healthy, safe and well, with a range of services, activities and programmes recognising that we need our teams to first look after their own wellbeing.
