In conversation: racialised perspectives in suicide prevention
Webinar – 10:00-11:30 Tuesday 18th November
About the webinar
Join this webinar as we create space for racialised perspectives in suicide prevention. Members of our Learning & Collaboration Space will be in conversation with Jess Worner, our Lived Experience Network Manager, to talk about:
- the recommendations and calls to action from Amplifying Our Voices: Racialised perspectives in suicide prevention, the report authored by the group which published earlier in the year
- the setting up and working together as a group
- the vital need for racial equity in suicide prevention
Aims of the session
This session will share and reflect on our journey with this work, from the perspective of group members, as well as the NSPA. Speakers will discuss how the project came about and how it has progressed culminating in publication of Amplifying Our Voices: Racialised perspectives in suicide prevention. We will share learning and some basic principles for supporting and collaborating with racialised communities. We want to create space for an open and honest discussion to take the fear out of confronting racism in suicide prevention.
