End Stigma Surrey

End Stigma Surrey are campaigning to end mental health stigma and discrimination in Surrey. Delivered in partnership with Catalyst Support, Mary Frances Trust & Acting Out

How does your organisation contribute to preventing suicide and supporting those affected by it?

The campaign aims to reduce mental health stigma and discrimination.  The elements that make up the project are drama-based mental health awareness training; supporting people who live with mental ill health to identify and challenge mental health stigma through personal development sessions and mental health anti-stigma focus groups; a mental health champion scheme comprising people who live directly or indirectly (e.g. carers) with mental health issues – accessing mental health services or living/working in Surrey.

What are your current priorities?

We’re in the early days of launching the campaign and website. A survey is being launched to gather feedback about the discrimination faced in Surrey.
