In Charley’s Memory
We are a mental health charity working with young people from 11- 25yrs. We offer 1-2-1 counselling, Drop in at local schools and mental health training. We raise awareness of suicide and mental health issues.
How does your organisation contribute to preventing suicide and supporting those affected by it?
With education of mental health, 1-2-1 counselling and a young ambassadors scheme to allow young people to support each other. To encourage conversations and raise awareness to help reduce stigma around suicide and those affected by it.
We are able to offer prompt assessments and counselling services for young people who contact us feeling suicidal.
What are your current priorities?
We are an ever growing charity always looking for new ways to support young people’s mental health, we have started a parent support group to allow parents to share their experiences and ideas on how to support their children.
Building on our existing programme so that we offer tools and resources to improve resilience and help prevent suicide.
What challenges are you currently facing?
Like most charities we are always going to find funding challenging, especially as our organisation grows and we are receiving more referrals from other agencies.
