Life & Progress
Life & Progress is an intermediary specialising in the provision of Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF_CBT) and Counselling for Employees. We are also the provider of Mental Health Responsive (MHR) One-Day Workplace Workshops CPD Certified / Accredited, plus Resilience & Stress Management Training. Life & Progress can also provide access to an array of employee benefits and occupational health.
How does your organisation contribute to preventing suicide and supporting those affected by it?
Life and Progress provides all of our own staff with 24/7 confidential telephonic access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) including full accessibility (at no cost to them) to face-to-face Counselling, telephone Counselling, online clinical support and other related support.
Life and Progress provides all of our own staff with regular educational and awareness training around mental health in the workplace, their mental health and everyday living, and resilience training. Plus, other sporadic training as appropriate.
The nature of our business is that we have an acute understanding of mental health issues and the support available, from those that we can provide, the support that our clinical partners can provide to the support that can be accessed within the public domain.
In addition to the mental health trainers we employ (plus our affiliate network of mental health trainers), through our occupational health arm we have both Doctors and Nurses on staff.
What are your current priorities?
Life and Progress is a people business and our most valuable assets are our people (our employees).
One of our primary priorities is to educate line-managers, team leaders and supervisors (manager of people) to be able to recognise clinical risk, risk factors and behavioural changes. Also, to enable managers to become mental health champions, and to help end mental health stigma.
What challenges are you currently facing?
Life and Progress is a growing business and as such we are employing more and more people, indeed we have doubled in size within the last two years. Subsequently we have seemingly employed a number of young people, and we want to ensure that our efforts are attuned to all ages, cultures and backgrounds.
We avoid the one-size-fits-all approach but rather we look to understand individual people and their individual wants and needs.
