Men’s Minds Matter
Men’s Minds Matter is a not for profit Community Interest Company dedicated to the prevention of suicide through building psychological resilience and emotional strength. Set up in 2009, originally as a platform for psychological research, Men’s Minds Matter has gone on to become a leading voice in suicide prevention, male suicide and male psychology.

Our work in suicide prevention
Our works focuses on advancing psychological research, creating accessible self-help resources, and providing learning and development opportunities for individuals and organisations. We specialise in suicide prevention interventions, including a bespoke programme for individuals at risk, and offer free therapy to men in Southwark experiencing crisis or suicidal thoughts. Raising awareness of suicide, with a particular emphasis on male suicide, remains a key focus, supported by targeted social media campaigns and partnerships with other organisations.
We actively contribute to national and local initiatives, including the NSPA steering group, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Suicide and Self-Harm, and the Southwark Suicide Prevention Steering Group. Our commitment extends to co-editing the Palgrave Handbook of Male Psychology and Mental Health (in press), underscoring our dedication to improving understanding and outcomes in this critical area.

Our current priorities
We intend to provide comprehensive information, advice, and self-help resources for men and boys across the UK through the redevelopment of the MMM website. Our commitment to advancing understanding of suicide and male experiences will continue through active engagement in producing and disseminating research. Building strong relationships within our local community remains a priority, alongside offering free face-to-face crisis therapy for men living in Southwark.
We aim to expand the reach of our psychological intervention model for individuals at risk of suicide by developing it into a widely accessible digital resource. As a founding member of the Male Psychology Network and the Male Psychology Section of the British Psychological Society, we will continue to actively contribute to these groups and their important work.

Our current challenges
MMM has been a self-funded project reliant on voluntary contributions from people and organisations. Time, money and personnel have been barriers to growth. We are very grateful to people who have voluntarily given their time and support to the project.
