To achieve this we have put together a team of professionals who are intent on exceeding expectations and pushing the boundaries of the scaffolding industry.
How does your organisation contribute to preventing suicide and supporting those affected by it?
Within the organisation we have 8 Mental Health First Aiders and they range from working within the office to being out on site. We have also introduced a monthly wellbeing bulletin that is sent out to all employees, and we have placed posters on all our sites to show the contact details of all the mental health first aiders, so should someone have a concern they wish to discuss they know who they can approach.
What are your current priorities?
We are currently trying to work towards being able to identify which employees may need assistance/support with their mental health, and as a team work towards getting them the support and guidance they may need so that they can work with us to help improve their mental health.
What challenges are you currently facing?
The challenge we currently face is the stigma attached to mental health, especially within the construction industry and trying to overcome this so our employees feel that they can discuss anything they might need to, openly with us as their employers.
