RightLinesUK

RightLinesUK is a small community interest company (CIC) dedicated to working with young people who feel the need to self harm to help them develop understanding, and strength to change. We do this through remote one to one services, webchat and direct messaging which are both confidential, secure and can be anonymous via our website. Privacy and confidentiality is vital and the safety of the young person is always paramount. We are building safe and thriving communities on various social media platforms, wanting to be easily accessible to our audience.

Our work in suicide prevention

At RightLines UK, we work on early intervention with young people around self-harm, aiming to reduce the risk of suicide. We also engage with young people who actively think, plan and sometimes act on suicidal thoughts, and support them to develop more positive understanding to help prevent suicide and self-harm.

In addition to our one to one, webchat and direct messaging services, we also provide a 24/7 distraction service on our website called Chat2TAV and offer a Craft2Mend resource. This provides semi structured guidelines for a mentor over five to six sessions with a young person which works to develop understanding, strength and change, and also includes crafting within the session to ease tension and build rapport.

Our current challenges

We are facing challenges around broadcasting our messages of service remit and availability, wanting to reach young people in an appealing way that will be understood, while being straightforward and honest and ensuring our content isn’t open to misinterpretation.
