At Sanitas, we offer mental health first aid courses that teach people how to identify and help a person who may be developing a mental health issue. Sanitas Hub is proud to be affiliated with Mental Health First Aid England.

How does your organisation contribute to preventing suicide and supporting those affected by it?

We contribute by highlighting the need for mental health awareness/training. All of our courses include suicide prevention, and our trainer is also a registered mental health nurse (RMN) with training in anxiety, depression and psychosis. We are currently developing a course for the cruise ship industry.

What are your current priorities?

Raising the awareness of mental health in the workplace.

Raising awareness of suicide on cruise ships and for all people who work at sea for long periods of time.

What challenges are you currently facing?

Employers are still not recognising the importance of mental health.
