Our work in suicide prevention

University Centre Quayside (UCQ) has a dedicated safeguarding team that meets monthly to address safeguarding issues, including mental health and suicide prevention. The team is actively developing a suicide-safer strategy and building connections with support networks.

Trained mental health first aiders are available to support employees and students, and the UCQ website provides links to national and local support organisations. To further raise awareness, several staff members are completing Level 2 Self-Harm and Suicide Awareness certification, with plans to introduce additional training for all staff.
