Our work in suicide prevention
Many of our members are at the frontline in helping and protecting the public and as security professionals, we are committed to the safety and wellbeing of our society. The WCoSP is at the start of its journey in playing a role in suicide prevention. A taskforce is in the process of being set up where our strategic initiatives will be agreed and then publicised.
Our current priorities
Suicide prevention of security professionals. Identifying opportunities for the security industry to use their expertise, tools knowledge etc to prevent suicides in wider society. Coordinating efforts in the security industry to prevent suicides.
Our current challenges
There is a vast number of suicide prevention initiatives so understanding these and where things already exist is important so that efforts are not duplicated but instead supported.
