Domestic abuse and suicide: Exploring the links
This research, conducted by Refuge and the University of Warwick, provides substantial and original evidence on the connection between domestic abuse and suicide. It examines the prevalence of suicidal thoughts and attempts among people in the UK who have experienced domestic abuse.
The report reinforces existing findings that show a strong link between domestic abuse and negative psychological impacts. It also emphasises the need for professionals working with survivors of domestic abuse to be more aware of, and responsive to, their risk of suicide.
